We have implemented the following protocols to ensure the safety of the public and of our employees.

To safety re-open the SSF retail store, has implemented increased sanitation and social distancing protocols to keep our employees and the public safe.

We will be installing a protective barrier at the retail counter (plexiglass) to allow our staff to stay isolated from direct contact with the public. Until this plexiglass is installed, it is mandatory for the retail employee to wear a face shield.

There tape on the floor indicating 6 feet from the till to protect our employee when they are punching in orders for customers.

Unless it is absolutely necessary, only one employee in the retail store at a time.

When more than one employee is in the retail store at once, they will all wear masks to protect themselves from each other.

Retail store employees will wear gloves whenever handling product, change gloves between products/customers, and wash/sanitize hands/gloves between customers.

Because the customer area of the retail store is a fairly confined space, only one household (No more than 2 people) may enter the store at a time. We have indicated a direction of flow through the retail entrance to prevent customers from bumping into each other and have placed queue indicators for customers to line up.

Customer contact surfaces will be washed with soap and water and then disinfected with a bleach solution regularly when there are no customers in store.

We will be operating with plastic purchase only (Debit/Credit) to minimize employee/customer contact. The payment machine will be fully sanitized between customers. Cash will be accepted only as a last resort.

Ice sales of a full tote or larger must be reserved ahead of time by the customer.

The retail employee will be responsible for washing down knobs and surfaces in the offices with soap and water and then disinfecting with a bleach solution when the retail store is not busy. Customers may use the buzzer to signify when they need assistance. Employees will not be allowed to float between the retail store and the processing plant to limit public contact.

Processing Plant

On the plant floor, employees will be required to maintain social distancing of 6 feet. They will wear face shields (Mandatory) and also have the option to wear disposable masks should they choose. All floor employees will have access to 4 smock changes throughout their shift, should they need them. Gloves and protective sleeves will be disposed of between work periods (on breaks). The employees responsible for laundry will be required to wear new gloves for the task and dispose of the gloves immediately after is it complete and to wash their hands again as per handwashing protocol.

Only 3 employees may occupy the lunchroom at any given time due to limited space in order to maintain social distance.
